Investigating The Disappearances

A few weeks after Market Day, there were a couple of colonists who mysteriously disappeared; a week later a couple more went missing. More and more people were disappearing every day.

After the first few disappearances, the council decided to form the Erimian Rangers: a part police force, part search and rescue team; I soon decided to join it. I got put under an extremely strict captain who loves paper work and his name is Jam Jam. I don't like him very much.

Today, Ojib told us that there was five more disappearances and told us that we should investigate because the ECC said that they would figure it out by the end of the week.

We went out to the homestead of the disappeared colonists on our varactyls. I tried to find tracks but surprisingly there were none. At lunch, Varad said that there was blood on the bed. Then we realized that Adi was missing again! Varad and Arron tracked down Adi while I went for a swim to see if I could find anything in the river.

The river was rushing really fast so it wasn't a water creature, as I was coming out I realized I was getting dizzy and the water was polluted by some sort of oil. When I got out, Jern told me that he had seen a creature in the trees. I looked and I saw a glimpse of a flying creature, then we heard a splash as it went into the water.

The others came back with Adi and she was holding some sort of box. We decided to go upstream to see what was polluting the water, and we found a fuel tank from the fuel ship! It wasn't even damaged that much. I helped Jern patch the leak and put a tracking beacon on it. We went back because it was getting dark.

When I arrived home with Arron and Adi, we realized that the others must have taken a wrong turn and got lost.
