Immediately after the pirates were wiped I chatted with my mom, it had been a while, and I hoped the comms would hold out… unfortunately they cut out at the most inopportune time so I panicked, thinking all sorts of terrible things may have been happening. Those darn corner cutting, cheapskate, Averons! Always spending as little as they can… I ranted about it to anyone who could hear. I really needed to know what mom was gonna say. Luckily we where called on to help, they sent us up the mountain to fix the comms system so we gathered some newly bought gear and headed out. It took us almost half a week to get there. What’s more, we spotted another large creature. This planet seems pretty full of them… It didn’t look very sentient, but it also looked super scary so we left it alone. We continued up the mountain to find the tower had indeed been sabotaged. It was a piece of cake to figure out all the things that were wrong. While we didn’t pay much attention to it at the time someone had stuck a homing beacon of sorts to the comms tower! That was very illegal, at least as far as the colony was concerned. The dish was also missing and there were some bad cable connections. We quickly realized that the large beast had taken off the dish, although how that beast managed to get all the way up to the top without crumbling the entire tower is a mystery to me. We found the beasts lair and our resident beast expert Vreck decided that we should kill it. I wasn’t about to argue so I decided to make a distracting device and lure the beast out so that we could get the dish. Of course the rest of them prepared to snipe the thing down as soon as it was clear… and of course I was the one to get mauled by the thing. I’ve got so many scars at this point, Uncle Tilchut would be proud. After that it was a piece of cake to reattach it. I set up an awesome pulley system that should make future repairs easier. Now that I got the tower back in working order I might start sending letters back home. It’ll be a little easier to have correct timings and the whole family could read them.
