After a rough, short nights sleep and many nightmares, we got up to the sound of the proximity buzzers going off. Uncle Vu briefed us on the situation and we went off to study the planet's surface and prepare for landing. The other group had placed a beacon on the planet claiming it as their archeological discovery. We landed on the planet's surface to begin discussing the situation with the newcomers. The civilians had already debarked from their ships without official consent and the land claims were getting handed out. I was feeling a little sore so I decided to see if I could find some stimpacks to give me a little boost, we had a quick look around and found a guy selling them for a decent price. I took one and used it. We arrived at the council in fairly good time all things considered but the council still thought we were late. An assassin tried to kill Jaleel with a poison dart but some amazing reactions from Arron ensured that he lived, for a little while longer at least. Vreck quickly rented a speeder and went out looking for herbs to help Jaleel. The council took a break and we got everyone’s inside view on the matter. We chatted with the ECC to see what they would be willing to give up, I pointed out that they didn’t have the supplies for this venture even though they might have the skills. When the council reconvened we presented our proposal to them. Of course, there was opposition but it was a cinch, our proposition was the only reasonable one for both parties although some grumbled a little. We hurried out afterwards to quickly claim some land before everyone else and took a loan and promised to take care of it to the company. We found a really nice spot with some ruins (although I never really go why we would want ruins that could get in the way of our operations), good places for a mechanic garage, and walking distance [Jern considers anything that could be walked in about a half hour to an hours walk “walking distance”] from the main base. All in all, it was a very eventful and fruitful day after the trauma yesterday from those… unspeakable’s.
