After a none too eventful month of simple guard duty, our group was notified of peculiar disappearances happening to people out in remote places in the colony. And we were warned that ECC was on it too (of course we need a competitor) and they said that they would finish the job in a week. So of course doing as we would we set out to one of the sites where people had disappeared. It was a small place near the water.
What we found there was a little creepy. Mr. Lucar having the genius idea of looking at the beds, found blood just below the pillow of every bed. The blood was still somewhat fresh.
For lunch we headed back home and ate some of Vunni’s sandwiches which were amazing. Then we arrived back at the scene of where disappearances had taken place. After a little looking around we remembered that Adi might have gone out on one of her adventures.
The ride of finding Adi was more exciting than it needed to be due to unfamiliarity with riding animals. We found her in a highly booby-trapped ruin, reaching for what looked like a booby-trapped box which I immediately discouraged her to do. Mr. Lucar and I also took immediate interest in the box. So with my quick hands and a stone we managed to collect the box which we found was locked, so we held on to it to open later.
Back at the site of the disappearances we were told that some oil must have been coming from upstream and that there was some black flying/swimming creature around. We decided to look upstream for the oil source and found a piece of the fuel ship that had failed to land before, crashed into the ground with a leak that we soon fixed up. Realizing how late it was we headed off home. Somehow Mr. Nadar and Mr. Takuc had failed to follow and were apparently lost in the jungle.
