It all began with a violent storm. I’m not sure how a machine designed to travel at ridiculous speeds in a vacuum should be so hampered by some wind and electricity, but apparently enough that I had to keep it up with basic ‘janitor’ duty kind of work, I’m not exactly sure what I was supposed to be doing, but whatever I did, we kept flying and the alarms weren’t as loud.
Travelling to the Council, I expected we would be met with more admiration and respect, especially after we shared our findings (although maybe not, since Mr. Lucar seemed to be quite arrogant in behaviour), but as we entered, we were notified that we were to be arrested for the illegal activity we had done before, which made quite a lot of sense, what we did was wrong, I’m not always entirely sure why we committed the acts the way we did.
We each were put in our own cells, but not before I was able to get a quick chat to Dah’lia who was able to give me a quick overview of what had been discussed in the council room before we arrived, sharing how much trouble we were in. Nothing else seemed to be out of the ordinary, only, Adi had to be hidden away as she may be a target for bounty hunters. The night wasn’t uncomfortable, jail seemed less exciting than I originally thought it would be.
In the morning I was interrogated about my actions and the actions of my colleagues, I spoke the truth when I felt no other way, but often had to answer with deflection, as I didn’t want to say anything that would be incorrect (obviously, wouldn’t want to tell my interrogator that we had been doing worse illegal activity than we did, our intentions weren’t bad and they might document it wrong).
Later however, I learned that Mr. Lucar hadn’t even had an interrogation; when he out of all of us logically should have been. And that our charges were going to be a simple one month of community service, and that the ship that we stole was going to be owned by the colony (for now) and that we were going to be allowed to use it! Shady stuff coming from Mr. Lucar is what it felt like, I guess I don’t always know the full power of my team. What a turn of events! I suppose this next month will be harder on the others than me, but there’s no way they should be able to find a way to complain.
