They race across the system to make their film date, burning through most of their fuel in the process. // Possible jumping-off points: // // - What is your character doing to account for xp expenditure? // // - I dunno. This is your crazy idea. Not mine. (No, wait. That's not totally true...)// <wrap rpg richard>Along the way T1-NY spends nearly all his time holed up in the workshop. In order to calm his jangled neuroweb, he binge-watches the As Coruscant Turns holovids while repairing his ascension cable. Still, even while keeping himself busy, there are subprocesses lurking under the surface, mulling over the bolting ordeal, patching entry points and shoring up functions to defend should it ever happen again.</wrap> <wrap rpg richard oc>`su` `su` on Mechanics roll to repair ascension gun, spending 140cr in the process (apparently DX-31 doesn't provide high-grade solder for free). 10xp for +1 Mechanics; 15xp for +1 Discipline.</wrap> <WRAP rpg kyle>Since Barrett finds himself alone with no one to socialize with, he digs through his belongings and finds a holo-mentary his father had given him on his 18th birthday. "Famous Speeches from Across the Galaxy" - a boring title, but the vid was fascinating. He took particular note of the techniques used by the most inspiring historical leaders. //Improved Inspiring Rhetoric - 10 XP//. After a few hours he sighs and lies on his bed, reflecting on his experience with Jilleen. Opening himself up a bit is incredibly effective, but has the potential for emotional danger... //Congenial Talent: suffer strain to downgrade difficulty of Charm/Negotiation checks, or upgrade difficulty when targeted by an NPC with Charm/Negotiation.// </WRAP> The two arrive on location to discover a Jedi Temple set has been built in the middle of a lush jungle. They are quickly put their costuming and assigned their parts. T1-NY is cast as one of three a pack-droid, carrying supplies for Lana and Duke on their exploration of the ruined temple. Barrett is cast as one of the evil rebels thugs trying to kills the heroes. Neither are speaking parts. (Unions...) 3 days of filming are wrapped. 1 day remains. Tomorrow the rebel guerrillas will attack Duke and Lana's exploration crew, scattering the two heroes from their droids (T1-NY), but not before killing two of their assailants (Barrett). The sun is setting, making it too dark to film. Everything is being put away for the day. A shuttle is waiting nearby to bring cast members back to the motel in town, about a 5 minute drive away. ===== FanDroid ===== <wrap rpg richard>The thrill of being on the set has T1-NY's glee capacitors overheating, so much so that he hasn't even tried to pick a single pocket the last 3 days. Or is that because of Invader lurking in his subprocessor, whispering sweet do-gooders in his audio receiver? Nah, it must be the excitement, he vehemently determines.\\ \\ With only one day left though, there are things he needs to get done before it's too late. Like getting that holovid he has tucked away signed by the stars. Chortling almost merrily to himself, he rumbles along looking for Lana & Duke as everyone heads for the shuttle. </wrap> T1-NY stops dead when he rounds a corner and sees them, standing by the door to Lana's trailer. (And yes, their screen names are the same as their real names.) "No, Duke! I can't go on like this any more. This needs to end." "But Lana, what about the show? What about the fans? What will they do if you quit?" "I don't care, Duke. I can't keep living this lie." "But Lana, what will I do?" "Duke, don't put this on me. I never wanted any of this." "Lana, I thought we had something special. I thought I meant something to you. Now you're saying you want to throw it all away?" "Oh, Duke. You know it's more complicated than that. So long as I'm engaged to the director, we can never be truly together." "Screw the director, Lana! I love you." "I love you too, Duke, but... I'm pregnant!" Lana bursts into tears and flees into her trailer. <WRAP rpg richard> T1-NY forgets all about getting his holovids signed as he wheels away excitedly in search of Barrett. In his haste he almost runs Barrett over, not noticing the conversation his partner (in crime) was having with the director.\\ \\ << Barrett! HoloSoaps aren't fiction! Lana and Duke are really in love but Lana is engaged to the director and can't be with Duke but she's also pregnant and I don't know who the father is but it's pretty crazy and maybe we should help them and take care of this "director" situation and even maybe make some money in the process and recurring roles on the show and...>>\\ \\ T1-NY's tirade abruptly halts as he notices the director standing right beside Barrett. </WRAP> <WRAP rpg kyle>Barrett just stares at T1 with his mouth open, as if he wants to speak but simply has no words. He then glances sideways at the director, and wonders if there's any popcorn nearby; he has a feeling there's going to be one crazy show to watch shortly. </WRAP> The director's eyes seem cold. "You two had better get on the shuttle..." he mutters, in a dramatic fashion, escorting them to the parking lot in silence. In the morning, notice is circulated that filming has halted indefinitely, and arrangements are made that day to return everyone to the city where they can find their own course home. Show page
