Season 1 Finale - Flames of Rebellion

35:2:22

The party finds itself betrayed by Fox and captured; they are interrogated but are rescued by Merlyn's free coffee. Swift and Damaria were in the clutches of a powerful Inquisitor, and the party's fate looked grim, but Master Xenrad sacrificed himself to give them all time to escape.

They were confronted by the Head of Imperial Security on Bin Prime, Commander Larness; and as the party meets him, they realize the same man is also Agent 63, a powerful ISB secret agent, and Sprend's old nemesis who killed his family many years ago. They managed to take him down and capture the unconscious Imperial.

When they returned to the Reactor Core, they found it burning, with Officer Madar overseeing the destruction. Dash wiped the smug smile off of his face with the Vibrovan. Madar's final mission was the last in a long line of failed missions, however; Imperial intel must have been incomplete, since the Safehouse remains intact.

The Empire has also dissolved the Balmorran Assembly and put out a bounty on Swift's head, seizing his remaining estate. The other Peers are being interrogated, with the non-humans and those with questionable allegiance to the Empire put under house arrest. The Governor has declared martial law, and stormtroopers roam the streets in place of local police. Damaria's apartment is also under surveillance, an obvious trap. The streets are restless, and it may only take a spark for Balmorra to erupt in outright Rebellion…

Duty Rewards

Pre-Rank 3

  • 10 Sabotage - the torture room is now unusable, and there is significant water damage throughout the prison complex.
  • 7 Combat Superiority - the team eliminated the Inquisitor's escort and several stormtrooper guards
  • 6 Personnel - Merlyn rescued the team from certain death or life imprisonment
  • 10 Counterintelligence - Fox's last “contribution” - due to the betrayal and fallout from that, the Empire now believes that the Rebel HQ is destroyed, not realizing there was a Safehouse below the actual cantina (not that they'll stop searching for the “new” HQ since some escaped); this also includes Tor wiping out the data on all prisoners
  • 2 Support - Damaria's role in getting Swift and the others away from the Inquisitor (“Run”!)

Post-Rank 3

  • 10 Combat Superiority - the team captured Agent 63 and killed Officer Madar
  • 4 Personnel - Merlyn recovered Madar's cybernetic eye and used it to help Sprend's lost vision
  • 2 Support - Damaria (leftovers from Damaria's pre-Rank 3 Duty reward)

Resources Lost

  • Reactor Core cantina is destroyed; Marv is maimed; he sent Grexi and Bobo off to hide, and they never returned - perhaps lost in the catacombs or escaped somewhere?
  • Vinny and Via are likely still captured by the Empire, location unknown
  • Fox is enslaved by the Empire, undergoing “rehabilitation”
  • Swift and Damaria felt Master Xenrad die in the fight against the Inquisitor
  • When Vinny was captured, the scout speeder was confiscated by the Empire
  • Swift and Damaria have lost their independent homes, now live in the Safehouse with the others
  • If the team returns to the Den, they will find Chulo's body in the rubble - he died during the stormtrooper assault (but they find Sprend's hat, a little worse for wear)
