Subject: Genealogical research

I imagine you had much the same reaction to the information Tor-nenko discovered last night regarding one of those who've come before us. Perhaps we should discuss ways to pursue further research of this part of our shared family tree; I at least would prefer to keep it secret from the rest of the group, as that particular branch has been viewed with distaste of late.

As an aside, regarding the events from last night: I think it's important to let you know (as you are in essence the leader of this band at the moment, given your role in its formation; I can see the others definitely looking up to you in that capacity, as well they might) that I'll be taking steps immediately to prevent some of the issues that plagued us from happening again. That may lead to another area of discussion at some point – especially those parts related to said ancestor.

My thoughts exactly. And your words about ancestors have brought to my mind a collection my parents had; but while this transmission is encrypted, it is not infallible. This discussion needs to be direct and private. Perhaps we will have a chance to speak tomorrow after supper.

I do not mean to be forward or inappropriate, so I will agree to whatever meeting conditions make you most comfortable; my datapad is wearing down typing and re-typing, trying to phrase everything perfectly to avoid misunderstanding or sounding like a complete fool, but my insecurity is clearly showing through, so I will stop now before I completely end up sounding like Dash.

You will understand if I tell you a particular episode of my past; another conversation that must happen if we are to work together with trust. I am truly sorry that this is ridiculously complicated.
