Aaynnie, are you there? Can you hear me through the cursed Void? I'm not always sure of …. My thoughts …. I can hear it all! …. it's too much…. I .. I..
Aayne, I'm faced with a dilemma. I think I'm sure about the Balance but I can feel the darkness chipping away at my resolve. Chaos seems neverending.
Ok, that funny little mouse wanted me to come with him to find this naturalist whacko. Khan Vane is his name. Of course, he's not home. He left a message about being out in the jungle. I can't believe the little guy wanted to go find him. I guess I can understand though. It seems like Slee and the little guy have contracted whatever is affecting the rest of the populace. Aayne, this is bad. People are dying and the medicine isn't working. It seems to slow it down somewhat, but there just isn't enough to go around.
The jungle was hot. Muggy. Damn bugs everywhere. Did I mention hot? I think it's getting to Keva. I think his ears are drooping a little more than when I first met him. We finally caught up to the herbalist. I think he was smoking a bit too much of his own product though. He was definitely off his rocker. But Slee buzzed in over the comms and let us know about these two different roots that might be able to help. So we managed to harvest some of these things and, of course, I had to carry them too. Almost had to carry the mouse too!
Hah.. oh Aaynnie I hope you aren't watching everything I do. I thought the jungle would be a walk in the park but apparently the simple task of erecting a shelter is beyond me. It must be some payment to the Balance because I was clumsier than a koochu Nerf herder. Remember that time when Yunn'sara, may the Sith burn his bones!, toured the rock gardens? I was trying to catch one of those damn flying pebbles. It got me right between the eyes! ………….
Well, anyways, we headed back to town. The herbalist's guide seemed familiar to me. Something about his tattoo… and then the beasts came. Ripped open his throat right in front of us! Jungle cats or something.
Basadii!! The Hutt clan! That's where I saw that tattoo! It seemed odd that a henchman for the kajidic would be out here in the woods. Something wasn't quite right.
It seemed liked those cats weren't interested in us because they let us go. Their eyes were mesmerizing though. It's almost like they could see the Balance flowing around them. How I wish I could communicate with them!
We headed back into town, dragging the passed out Vane. AD-87, that's the droid, had got into some sort of trouble with the Mayor but Slee managed to smooth things over. I guess his forked tongue works well.
Supper was fantastic, especially because I wasn't buying! It seemed to bring Slee and Keva down a notch. I felt fine but I think they were really starting to worry. I don't know why but I felt that I could maybe help them out a bit. 87 and I went to do some 'talking' with the local guards. And by talking I was really itching for a fight. It was as if those jungle cats had shown me my future. I think the Balance was calling for blood that night. We searched the water supply but didn't find anything out of sorts. I'm not really a detective but I was trying to help where I could.
Enough was enough and I told 87 that I needed a drink. Something strong. We went back to the cantina. As what usually happens in these places the droid wasn't looked on with favor. I heard a round of expletives as we entered the bar. The bouncer definitely had it out for him. I thought that barrel of his blaster rifle would start spinning and bodies would start flying. Especially after the bouncer tossed his weapon to the floor! I definitely wouldn't provoke a droid. At least not one with a giant blaster. But he backed down and things were fine.
This is were it got interesting Aayn'aren. The chef showed us his pantry and then everything clicked together. The Besadii symbol was there too! Food stores from the Hutt's! I needed to tell Slee or the Mayor about this. This was no natural epidemic but a poisoning! An entire planet! Can you believe it?
I didn't have to wait long for my theories to set in. The Besadii must have been watching the pantry and we were jumped on the way out. Hah! A swordmaster and a few henchmen. Oh the Balance called out. It's was as if the jungle cat's power was flowing through me. Blood was being called for. It was pretty tight quarters and 87 had some trouble handling his weapon, but I went after the swordmaster.
Oh Aayn! I danced the dance of death that night. The cries of the sick and dying citizens echoed in my ears as I cut those Besadii minions down. Unfortunately 87 had let one of them take off. The Balance would have to wait, but I knew that this was just the tip of the iceberg. A storm was brewing out there in the cosmos.
We took some of the food to the crazy doc and he confirmed my suspicions. It was late but I had to let the Mayor know.
After a few hours of sleep we met with Tana Panau's, she's the Mayor, but then the storm hit. Kaltho the Hutt had entered orbit and was wanting to make some deal with Tana. All these deaths, the poisoning of an entire population was all part of a ploy to take control of the city!
Oh how the Balance is calling out to me. This tragedy must end. I wish that death could always be balanced by new life, and it seemed that way when you were here beside me Aaynnie, but it seems this is not the way of the universe. Sometimes death by evil must be answered by death.
We are hatching a plot. I may be meeting you soon Aayn'aren. One does not attack a Hutt and live to tell about it. But if Slee and Keva are right… we can actually make this work.
The Balance will be restored in this corner of the galaxy. I am it's instrument. Neither jealous evil nor blind love will prevail. Order in the Chaos. The path has been shown to me.
Aayn'aren. I will see you again. May the Scales find you and Judge you. Balance is Perfection. I love…… I miss you.
