Andretti's Journal of Heroism

He Bumped Into Me First

Wow, this is the nicest room I've stayed in for a LONG time. I think I like Teslarus. It's a nice tourist-y world, with some excellent gambling. Oh, we're here on assignment, so I totally did not break any Imperial protocols. At all. Really.

So the Commander got some kinda intel about a ship or something, and we had to fly out to Jeshau to investigate. I have a hard time remembering some of the details. Pinprick (yeah, I came up with that one, myself - I think Deadeye thought it was funny, although I have a hard time interpreting her “looks”) piloted us out there so we could investigate, but once we boarded the ship we were supposed to investigate, he just flew off, leaving us stranded. Slimo.

So, we were investigating this abandoned ship, trying to figure out who it's owned by (right, I remember now - Commander wanted us to bring it back to its owner - that sounds really suspicious in hindsight…). Suddenly there was some crazy alarm or signal that went off; we turned it off right away, but we knew something bad would probably happen. I think at this point we also found out some reference to the “Ice Princess” - I may have had a bit to drink tonight, so I don't quite remember if it's the name of the ship, or the name of the owner. Or both.

Anyway, it had hyperspace coordinates programmed in, so we thought, “Hey, we probably should just go there, it might give us a clue to who or where the owner is.” Logical, I guess. I can't even remember if we reported back to the Commander our destination, and I don't actually know how we're going to get back if we do deliver the ship. The Commander BETTER be paying us for expenses (well, at least our official ones - this room might have to stay off the books).

Anyway, so we headed off to the coordinates, and it turned out to be Teslarus. Some crazy scout ships thought they could attack us, and “Blammo!” - they all could not match up to the crazy skills of Maestro! I helped Deadeye get some kills - set her up real nice with my expert flying. Marvelloso!

We landed on Teslarus, and headed for a cantina. Where else would we get information? On our way, I seem to recall some kid in an alley who wanted to be all secretive. Apparently the Ice Princess is his Mom? Or his Mom's ship (I still can't remember which)?

Well, we left the kid behind and made it to my second favourite place here - the Lucky Lute, a high-end establishment, alta classe. I made straight for the Hintaro table, and the dice were with me! Drekk joined me at the table, and we enjoyed ourselves a lot. Not sure if we got a lot of information, though.

After winning a bit, I got Deadeye to join me at the high stakes table. I did pretty good, and now we can afford this nice hotel. We pretty much cleaned out a drunk Rodian. I call him Treeface. I don't remember why.

I recall Deadeye asking the barkeep about the Ice Princess, and I think he said that she was his mom, too. But I'm pretty sure he was a totally different species than the kid in the street, so I am very confused, or very drunk, too. Which may explain my next actions, yes?

We decided to find a place to stay for the night, and Treeface also went out. He bumped into me, so I decided that this is no way to treat Maestro, Imperial pilot extraordinaire! I am concerned about the lack of respect for fine, upstanding Imperials here. So I decided to, uh, interrogate him, but he tried to run off into the alley, so I tried arresting him. I only used stun.

While I was running after Treeface in the alley, Drekk was a faithful friend, covering my back. I glanced back and saw him completely wipe out a whole bunch of what seemed like bodyguards attacking us. Honestly, this could all have ended without violence if Treeface had just submitted to a standard inspection and handed over all his information and credits to me. Oh, wait, I mean if he hadn't abused an Imperial agent on duty, it just wouldn't have come to this. Molto stupidi.

The strange thing is, after all the dust cleared, the local police showed up, and quite calmly arrested Treeface, and didn't seem at all bothered by the carnage in the street. That seems to bother me for some reason. It almost reminds me of back home and the mafioso. Not that I have any connections to that stuff.

Well, I'm now relaxing at my favourite place on Teslarus - the penthouse suite of some ritzy hotel. I don't remember the name. But the bed is tutto dolce. I anticipate the Maestro will be well-rested for another exciting day tomorrow. Buona notte!
