Session 2 Recap

After a few very fearful moments, Keva and Jinx realize the cats are focusing on their guide, and slowly back away from the predator, and bring a fainted Khan Vane back with them. Jinx noted the Basadii kajidic tattoo on their guide's neck as the cat ripped it apart. Meanwhile Slee ran back and forth trying to figure out what to do to help them, and AD-87 ended up getting arrested for being away from his owner - it turns out this town was the victim of a droid army attack back in the Clone Wars and don't take kindly to droids.

After everything is ironed out with Pana Tanau, the party had supper together, and Keva & Slee become even more sick, which made them suspicious of the source of the Jungle Rot epidemic. After supper, one of the mechanics, Gido Kale, came to the party to ask if they'd seen his son on their travels. The story sounds very similar to Slee's sister, but they were shocked to hear that it sounded like she was now working with these slavers. Gido also overheard the name Hossk, but wasn't able to track down anything due to the remoteness of Varonat.

With Keva and Slee recuperating from their spiraling Jungle Rot infections, 87 and Jinx went to investigate the town's water supply and food supply, searching for signs of tampering. The water tower seemed clear after talking to the guard, so they decided to check out “The Local Watering Hole,” since the symptoms seemed to flare up after eating there. (I think the party also talked about their run-in with Kaltho, and that led Jinx to be suspicious about the tattoo, right?)

87 was not treated well inside, glared at and insulted. But they did gain access to the pantry around the back alley. On their way out, the bouncer dropped 87's rifle intentionally, damaging it to see if he could provoke a fight. Somehow 87 restrained himself. Jinx noticed boxes of food in the pantry marked with the Besadii symbol.

As they brought it out they were ambushed by a group of thugs and what appeared to be a swordmaster (so not just a random mugging). After getting quite injured, Jinx and 87 defeated the group, though one minion escaped. Hmm, maybe Jinx should have killed him after all.

They brought the food to Khan Vane, who found it to be tainted with the Jungle Rot, and they quickly notified the authorities, and then collapsed in bed.

In the morning, the party was called to Tana Panau's office for a meeting to debrief them about their investigation, but they were interrupted by a message from Kaltho the Hutt, who had recently entered orbit. His timing was off (good thing they decided not to wait for morning), and Tana wasn't fooled by his offer for relief. It was obvious he wanted to take control of the Shadowport, and was willing to murder an entire population to do so. Tana Panau puts him off, and he gives a deadline of 24 hours.
