Session 1 Recap

After a harrowing escape from Bespin, The Trap arrived at Varonat en route to Gerrenthum where they plan to resupply. However, they run straight into a dogfight between a medical transport and two squadrons of Black Sun pirates.

Keva's underworld connections came in handy, recognizing Vidar Kene, the pirate leader, and cut a deal - swapping the Trap for the heavily-damaged YT-2400, Ryloth's Hope. Slenahn eventually recognizes this ship as the same medical transport he was working on the fateful day his father died, and the sole survivor of this current pirate attack was Jynx, a mysterious Gank.

When they landed on Varonat to broker the deal, Slenahn barely prevents Jynx from decapitating the pirate captain with promises of delivering the medical goods carried by Ryloth's Hope to it's destination. But moments later, the Mayor of Tropis-on-Varonat, Pana Tanau, arrived to beg the party to help them stop an epidemic. They all agree to help in exchange for free repairs.

Meanwhile, Keva and Slee begin feeling slightly ill, and soon realize they have contracted the Jungle Rot, and after discovering that a cure may be extracted from a local root, Keva and Jynx travel out into the jungle to hunt down the resident naturalist Khan Vane. Slee stays behind to help with repairs and mix with the locals.

After an arduous journey, Keva and Jynx meet Khan Vane, and together they collect two roots, one of which may cure this strain of Jungle Rot. After spending the night in the jungle (very nearly without shelter, and being stalked by an unknown predator), they decide to return to the city to test these roots. Just as they come to the outskirts of town, they are ambushed by a predator which kills their guide and then turns on them with a snarl.
